IMAP support in Archiveopteryx
Archiveopteryx includes an advanced IMAP server with support for
RFC 3501,
the latest version of IMAP, as well as
more than a dozen extensions.
The IMAP server is fast, powerful, feature-rich and well-tested. It
is intended as the primary way to access mail stored in the database.
Interoperability
Oryx has tested that Archiveopteryx works with the following IMAP clients:
- Eudora 6.2 was
tested with Archiveopteryx 0.90 in January 2005, with no problems.
- Microsoft
Entourage is routinely used with Archiveopteryx. No known problems
as of 2.0 in June 2007.

Evolution is routinely used with Archiveopteryx. No known problems
as of Archiveopteryx 2.0 in June 2007.

Fetchmail is routinely used with Archiveopteryx. No known problems
as of 2.0 in June 2007.
- KMail is routinely
used with Archiveopteryx. No serious problems as of 2.0 in June 2007.
- Mutt is routinely
used with Archiveopteryx. No problems as of 2.0 in June 2007.
- Pine 4.6
is routinely used with Archiveopteryx. No serious problems as of 2.0 in
June 2007.
- SquirrelMail
is routinely used with Archiveopteryx. No problems as of 1.05.

Thunderbird is routinely used with Archiveopteryx. No problems as of
2.0 in June 2007.
